I have a few questions for any of you Mama's out there who would be willing to help me out!
1. When did you start feeding your child foods other than formula or breast milk?
2. What did you first feed them?
3. When did you start on fruits and veggies? What kinds?
4. When did your child start sleeping through the night? More than 8 hours....
5. Anything you recommend when moving towards solids?
6. When did you start to get on a schedule with naps, feeding and bedtime? How?
Thanks so much! I'm sure I'll have more questions eventually, but this is a good start!

1. We started around 4.5 months with rice cereal mixed w/ breastmilk (or formula for you), but she didnt take in much. So we just did it every few days to 'try' it out. Around 5.5 months is when she really started taking it in more.
2. Rice cereal or oatmeal cereal (found in baby section), very watered down at first!
3. We started mixing in fruits to the rice cereal first for breakfast...around 5.'ish-6months. This is a personal preference. Do what you think he needs/wants. Just start being consistent with one meal a day around 6'ish months or so. Then gradually move up and up. Emeline didn't like rice/oatmeal cereal much at all so we just went straight to fruits/veggies at 6 months. Maybe even a little bit prior.
Apple sauce is a good one, bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc.
make sure you try each fruit/veg for about 3-5 days FIRST (without any other ones at the same time) to watch for reactions/allergies. If all is well, then introduce the next flavor, etc.
5. Rubber bibs. The Tomee Tipee with the lip at the bottom. Save my life. Just rinse and dry. Find at babies r us.
6. Around 3-4 months is when naps started getting more routine.
For bedtime, just START a routine. Bath/book/feed/bed, etc (whatever you want)..keep it consistent. Start it all about 30-40 mins prior to when he gets a little bit sleepy. He'll get used to it. Somewhere between 6:30pm-9pm..all kids are diff!
1. Around 4.5 months is when we gave him rice cereal for the first time. We did that for a few days, but he hated it, so we moved on to oatmeal, which he loves.
2. Rice cereal, then oatmeal
3. We started veggies about a week after we introduced oatmeal. We're still trying all the different veggies now, then we'll move to fruit.
4. Somewhere around 6-8 weeks. He's a great night sleeper, horrible napper.
5. We love the soft-tipped Tommee Tippee spoons
6. We had a great schedule going around 3 months, until it all got turned upside down. Now at 5 months we're still working on getting it back. His naps are all over the place, so that makes it hard. Our bedtime routine is VERY consistent and he is in bed at the same time every night.
1. We started cereal around 4.5-5 months. She wasn't interested so I toned it down until 5.5 months. Then she got sick and really wasn't interested, so I stopped all together. We're just now starting up again.
2. Rice cereal, bananas, avocado, sweet potato, squash and oatmeal cereal (www.wholesomebabyfood.org is a great resource)
3. Around 6 months
4. HA!!! Sleep through the night? What does that mean?
5. Practice and patience. They don't know what to do. He won't EAT anything for the first little while, probably. And even when he starts ... there may be days he wants nothing to do with it. Eva is like that. Sometimes she will open her mouth and accept the spoon - other days she only wants milk.
6. She started to have a decent schedule between 2-3 months but I'd say it was really close to 4 months by the time I'd say it was very predictable for naps, feedings and bedtime. That's when she started to stretch feeding out and nap more consistently.
